Protocol of a study on the activity of Elixir-11 used as an additional means during the treatment of patients with pulmonary tuberculosis at the Pulmonary hospital in the town of Troyan
3rd stage, December 4, 2002 - January 4, 2003.

After a two-month application of the herbal preparation Elixir- 11 as an additional therapy of six patients with pulmonary tuberculosis, and in connection of the good clinical effect we continued the treatment of the above-mentioned patients including two newly tuberculosis-infected patients. The new patients were subjected to roentgenological, haematological, biochemical, microbiological and functional examinations in order to completely elucidate the diagnosis.

All of these 8 patients took Elixir-11 together with a triple tuberculostatic combination. During the whole period of this investigation we did not observe side-effects or allergic reactions caused by the herbal tincture.

Results from the third Stage of the Study

  • The patients who took Elixir-11 in the course of three months permanently stabilized their status. No aggravation and febrile periods were found at the 3rd stage.
  • The self-confidence and appetite of the patients was improved.
  • The broncho-pulmonary syndrome was considerably reduced.
  • There was no deterioration of the paraclinical parameters.
  • The roentgenomorphological changes were considerably reduced.
  • All patients did not excrete bacilli.

Conclusions

  • Elixir-11 is an appropriate additional means for treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis together with the conventional tuberculostatic therapy.
  • During the three-month application there were permanently observed positive effects of this preparation which contribute to stabilization of patients’ status as well as to acceleration of the restorative processes in the macroorganism.
